Major setback !!!
This partly constructed wall is supposed to be straight... The red arrows show where the ground slipped and landslide started and where the wall is most damaged. There is about a dumptruck load of wet soil and clay. Int here as well is the plastic and geocloth we were using to protect the cut from the weather, and the concrete blocks we were using to hold all the plastic etc down in the wind. We think the weight of last week's snow brought it down; plus the sodden earth's weight from the incessant rain; plus maybe some freeze thaw action from the fluctuating temperatures last week.
The green arrow shows the braces we put up in the dark last night (Sunday) to at least try to stop it from completely giving way. It is hard to get a sense of the badness in the snow, I will take more shots when [if] it melts.
WE ARE TRYING TO GET A BUCKET BRIGADE GOING FOR DEC 27TH - SATURDAY - IF YOU READ THIS AND THINK WE ARE CRAZY TO TRY TO SHOVEL IT OUT LET US KNOW
This snow was really unexpected - These were taken about 7 am Monday, there was no snow on the ground at all at 6 am and none was forecast until Tuesday. This snowfall had only been going half an hour when I took these 2 shots - a dump I believe. The snow on Friday when it had a more pleasant aspect when I was at work.

24 degrees, snow day,
Cold this Monday a.m. 24 deg F, about minus 5 C I think. This was the temperature just after 11am.
Three days ago, Saturday, pipe bomb in the street, police cars, crime scene tape, some window damage to the house across the way from us; seemed random.
The bomb was where the upturned bins are; the edge of our house is the cladding in the far right of the image
Playing in the mud digging a new trench to let pooled up water out of the foundations; pretty warm, 36F (2 C).Then Monday a.m. snow snow snow. Different look to everything. Our new street and a covered work site; definitely a snow day, can 't see where to put your feet.
